Bill, My Fairlane Cobra is a 69 and the part number on the horn is C90F-9510-H list 4345. I don't have the production date handy but has I recall it is late 68. The Ford tag is long gone so I don't have anymore part numbers.
When I got the stock carburetor I had little information about it. I was replacing an after market Holley double pumper so I did not have a base setup to start with. While rebuilding the stock Holley I found it had #66 primary jets and #76 secondary jets. The Ford repair manual indicated it should have #66 and #79 jets. I inquired around and found #66 and #79 were correct but I was told #68 primary jets would probably work better with today's gasoline. I bought a set of #79 jets for the secondaries and left the #66 primary jets.
Once I had the carburetor restored and on the car I proceeded to tune it. I was able to get it to run fairly well by adjusting the idle mixture using a vacuum gauge. It had a slight stumble coming off of idle when moving the car from standing still when I accelerated lightly. It would not do it if I stepped on accelerator pedal a little more. I checked the accelerator pump adjustment again and it was correct. I then opened the idle mixture screw about 1/2 turn and the stumble improved. I opened the idle mixture until the stumble went away but I did not like how far out it was. I decided to try #68 primary jets and was able to get it to run correctly at about 2 1/2 turns out on the idle mixture screw.
The only mods to the engine is a mild performance cam (Crower 280HDP) and Pertronix ignition. I have the timing set at stock. I do not get pinging with 91 octane gas with about two liters of 110 Racing fuel added. I do shut the engine off in gear to prevent run on.
That is more answers than you asked for. I hope it helps you understand what I am dealing with rather than confuse the issue.
Gary
