Bill,
Much obliged!!!!!
I've been searching and reading your forum. Very nice and informative. In addition to Pony, CarbSpec, and the guy on eBay you mentioned for 4100 parts, I see CFI gets mentioned too.
Where can I get a Motorcraft rebuild kit? Will my local O'Reilly's or NAPA have it or can order it?
Do you have any recommendations on Carb cleaner?
It's been a while since I rebuilt a carb, so I'm trying to get caught up quick, before I rebuild this one. I'll get the plastic cam before I tear it down. Hopefully, I don't find any other broken parts. I've never been one to replace parts that aren't broke, but sometimes when they are inexpensive and history tells you they are prone to failure, it makes sense. Are there any parts that are not in the rebuild kit you'd recommend replacing while it's down? I've had the car for two years and the broken fast idle cam is all I know thats wrong with the carb.
The 4100 sits on my Acapulco Blue '69 Mach 1 w/ 390, Wide Ratio Toploader, and 3.50 Traction-Lok 9" rearend. It does a fine job even though it looks like it hasn't been cleaned and rebuilt in 20 years or more.
