Thanks for the help, I took the carb off ( which is a new reman unit that I bought off ebay) & looked at it with a magnifying glass & the number is a 9 although it is very vauge. I also took it apart to see what size jets & power valve I have.

Motorcraft 2150 variable venturi

59f main jets
75 power valve

also it is running very rich, plugs are black & sooty at 1500 ft above sea level, with the egr disabled. Should I buy jets & power valves & try & lean it out with the help of vacum advance timing, or scrap it for another carb? I really dont want to buy another carb for this truck if it can be tuned that is the route I would like to go if it will work.
