I dove in,eliminatedeverything else,I tried the graphite spray around the slightly loose throttle shaft,filled the carb with spray cleaner overnight and it got a little better,so before tearing into the carb,I wired the choke about full closed,drove down the road and it backfired once and started idling much faster, so I stopped,unwired the choke and bingo,it runs fine.Now I don't know whether to tear into carb or just leave it.I didn't really drive it hard enough to test secondaries opening,so I guess that will tell me.Thanks a lot,If I do rebuild I will get your advice on what to look out for again.Thanks again.
