4100's NEVER came with electric chokes and any installed on a 4100 would have been home converted using a holley cap.
And while we are on the subject 4100's never came stock with manual chokes unless it was the ultra rare Hi-po carburetor used on the K coded 289's which was only about a half a dozen of the 180-200 varieties of 4100's, UNLESS they also have been home converted using modified 2100 manual chokes off of a 2100 truck carburetor.
Why anyone would want to go thru this much hassle (unless they were trying to make a VERY POOR hi-po clone)(and no I am not going to tell you how)I would have no idea, because that factory hot air choke is probably the VERY BEST DESIGNED CHOKE OF ALL.
The factory air choke is superb at operating the 2100/4100 and getting the carburetor calibrated for proper engine operation based truly on the engine temperature, not like the other two.
Can you tell which way I lean with my customers and how I feel about it?
Seriously the factory hot air choke that has been properly calibrated and bench set is the very best!!!!
