Well I never did get those jets out. Figured better to stop while I'm ahead before I messed up the only good carb body I had. After a good soak in cleaner I made sure there were no restrictions in the passages or jets themselves and then went ahead with the rebuild. Put it on the truck a couple days ago and she fired right up. A bit of tuning with a vacuum gauge and it seems like a whole new engine almost.
So, just wanted to share the good news and express my thanks to Bill et al for the guidance and advice.
Now, what's left.. Someone drilled holes in the cat, ignition switch is held on with duct tape, tire has a slow leak, and the PO's snowmachine is still in the bed.. Ah, the fun never ends.. At least we can get to the store now.. |
