The D is supposed to be for an 65 Mustang Automatic and the E is supposed to be for the 65 Mustang 4 spd.
Other than the dashpost (or lack thereof) are there any other difference that they could not be used interchangeably? (in this case the E for an Automatic)
My '65 auto has the intake manifold mounted kickdown mechanism assy. so neither of those carbs would have had it built into the primary throttle shaft linkage.
