as stated in the reply above.....

the 6PH 1.08 would not work very well on your 289.

I would look for 1965 and ealier Mustang 1.08's part # C5ZF- followed by a letter.

Or, you could look for a Hipo 1.12 that was made for the 289. These are very expensive though.
