Ed & everyone, what are our carbs made of ? they look like aluminum, but so does zinc dioxide. If they are aluminum, can the carb body be anodized to help corrosion resistance ? if they're pot metal, can the body be plated or painted or dipped into anything to help resist corrosion ? I have few of these laying around, and could probably get others as well, for not too much $. And what does the metering rod setup do on the 2150 ? My guess is that it is supposed to lean out the mix at cruise ?

Speaking of lean mixtures, are others having a lean cruise misfire in their 2100 carb'd engines ? My suspicion is that my carb, with its factory '69 settings, is not rich enough for oxygenated gasoline currently sold.....so where do i get replacement jets for a 2100/2150 anyways ? Should I just get an adapter and run h----y jets ? Will the tag on my carb tell me the factory jet size ?

My longer range goal is to get a 2100/2150 setup for E85. I also have 4100 from a 352. I'm looking to get the best economy possible from carb'd, AOD 302 setup. i have 302 popup pistons and milled 289 heads that should give 13 to 1 or more when combined, but have never done anything to an autolite carb before, so I'm open to suggestion here, as long as we think cheap. I have a fair amount of bits and pieces, but more time than cash right now. But at less than 3$, E85 is cheaper than regular, and much cheaper than AV gas or racing fuel, and sold just down the street from me. Cal
