Newbie here so bear with me.

I just bought a 4100 1.08 C6FZ-B carb for my Mustang.

It had somewhat recently been rebuilt by Pony Carbs and, according to the Pony Carb invoice, "calibrated" to a Comp cam duration at .050 Int 218 Ex 224

Where can I find info about what might have been changed in this calibration? If I had the stock specs for the carb I would have a starting point so where can I find those specs.

Any help would been appreciated.

Thanks,
Tad

John called me from Pony carbs today and said the only thing I would have to do is adjust the idle mixture.

I'm thinking that's good news.

I'm also thinking, other than buying a rebuild kit for a carb that doesn't need it, where can I get tuning info on my carb.

Thanks,
Tad

Once you crack the carb you void the Pony's warrantee (if it still applies).

Having a carb the has been "modified" means you are exactly right, all you baselines are completely gone. I am willing to bet that setting to the factory specs (you do have a factory shop manual right) will accomplish that but depending on the extent of the mods done by Pony's will depend upon how much of a problem you will later have.
And unfortunatley as you probably already found out Pony's will not divulge thier "super secret" "modifications" even to people who have one of their modified carburetors.

My opinion on Pony's has been well documented in this forum so I don't think we need to rehash that out. Same with modifying carbs, it all might work out well for the original owner but just like in your case (or in the case of the next rebuilder) it makes big trouble down the line.
Funny part is most "mods" are either very suspect and based on wifes tails or simply unneeded.

Acutally Jon contacted me a couple of weeks ago right before I left for vacation, and wanted to discuss carbs, but unfortunatley I have been slammed both at work and home. I owe him a call.

Go with the 66 Mustang specs, I think that would work for you.

Good Luck
