I have a 2150 that I bought off of ebay for my 351m ford truck, It does not have an ID tag but it has 1.21 inside of a circle cast into the body, also on the driver's side foot of the carb it has inscribed (hard to read)TDJAx
Can any one tell me more about this carb & if there is more #'s to look for.

Missing something........

Those 70's models truck carbs can sometimes really throw you off, they did a HORRIBLE job of date stamping them from the factory.
Looks like you are missing a number at the very front of the TDJA, The T probably stands for the truck line which makes perfect sense since that 1.21 carb in the 70's was one of the biggest carb at the time and those were all installed on the trucks. The DJA would be a model type, but without the year code in front would be hard to look up.
Bottom line is the 1.21 is the venturi size indicating its a 351 CFM carb, remember though 2 barrels are rated differently than the 4 barrels. Usually this carb would have been on a 390 engine, So it might be a bit much carb for your 351. But the next size down is a 1.14 which is a bit less than you need for the 351.

I am also not a big fan of the 2150's as well especially sine the 2100's are readily available. The 2150's with thier emmission aditions can sometimes cause problems, Often thats why these carbs were removed, and you often get someones problem child.

Hope that helps you out,

Thanks for the help, I took the carb off ( which is a new reman unit that I bought off ebay) & looked at it with a magnifying glass & the number is a 9 although it is very vauge. I also took it apart to see what size jets & power valve I have.

Motorcraft 2150 variable venturi
9tdjax
1.21
59f main jets
75 power valve

also it is running very rich, plugs are black & sooty at 1500 ft above sea level, with the egr disabled. Should I buy jets & power valves & try & lean it out with the help of vacum advance timing, or scrap it for another carb? I really dont want to buy another carb for this truck if it can be tuned that is the route I would like to go if it will work.

Hello

I would start with the power valve. If there is a hole, raw fuel can drain into the engine.
