My new 292 rebuilt to 312, w/ 3/4 cam ran very crappy with my 4100 600 cfm. rebuilt (buy Champion) . I went with a new Edelbrock 1406 600cfm, and runs primo. 19.6 MPG

The 1.12 Autolite seems to be a bit big for the 292.
the 1.08 Autolite would be a better choice for this engine.

The Edelbrock can however be modified to work on different engines easier then the Autolite can.
