--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I need a bit of help with an issue I had never encountered before. On the 4100 carb, I backed out the power (economizer) valve and it ruined 2 or 3 threads at the outside. I can get a thread tap to it from the bowl area, but need to know what size to buy. I have narrowed it down to a 15/32 or 31/64. It measures to be a 28 thread pitch. I do not think there is enough meat to drill for a helicoil. I want to repair this and not ruin the new valve. Does anyone know the exact size or have any other ideas? Thanks, RonW

it is 1/2" 28 TPI. It is the same thread as Holley power valves.

http://www.aedperformance.com/Tools.htm  if they ask just tell em you are rebuilding a 4010.

well worth the $28.

All I need to find now is a tap for the Autolite/motorcraft jets.
