Jet seat question

I just discovered, on my Autolite 4100 carb, there is a complete chunk out of the rim on one of the secondary jet seats, right down to the float bowl floor level. I would say that about 3/16" is totally missing. Seems this would not seal and could allow additional fuel to flow. Any thoughts?

I would post a picture but that function does not seem to work.

Can you seal the threads with some teflon tape? Couldn't imagine much getting past the threads anyway - probably fine.

Seems they beat me to the punch on the small-block forum.

Yes, in desperation, I posted on a non-carb site. This forum has been dead lately. Sometimes weeks go by with post's not being answered.

Yes, the threads are good, so I'll do a little teflon wrap on the jet threads and undoubtedly be good to go.

Thanks for your response.

Yep a little bit of teflon tape works, I have also used a bit of locktite (the easy out kind) which also works. Not really a big deal here unless the jet is flopping around (ie the threads are all buggered)
