Hello everyone,

Any help would be appreciated with this question. I have gotten ahold of this C3OF-AJ Autolite and have been trying to figure out just what it is. I've been told it's an early Hipo, but a Hipo nonetheless, used on '63 Fairlanes, and even '63-'64 Shelby Cobras. I've also read that it can't be a Hipo because it has an automatic (Heat) choke and it's not anything special, which was quickly followed by a dirt cheap offer for it. So I'm confused.
Can anyone help me with this?

Thanks,
Ben

My sources say that the C3OF-AJ is for a '63 289 HiPo Fairlane. But they also say this about it.

"Unconfirmed Application.

Information may or may not be complete or accurate. The information provided cannot be validated or the information has not been validated from actual publications. Take it for what its worth."

Kinda leaves you right where you started, doesn't it? BTW, this carb does have the heat choke.

early HIPO 4100's used on Fairlanes and Comets had autochokes. specificly 1963-64 Fairlanes, 1963 Meteors, and 1964 Comets.

My copy of the 1968 Carburetors and tune up kits cataloge lists C3OF-AJ as a 1963-64 Fairlane HI-performance 289 carburetor.

Check the underside of the booster venturis, the primary should have M and the secondaries should have BA.
