for a Galaxie big-block...might be fine if both boosters are still with it as part of the factory set-up, but you don't have the cubes the carb was supposedly designed for. I'll look in my books to check the factory specs. and respond later.

some sites say emisions others dont. one site shows a 6A-E / C6AF-E to be for a 66 full size manual transmission. mine has auto trans linkage.sure has big jets. 49 and 67.

My books don't cover your configuration, but, if your carb is apart,

you can post the booster letter codes and jet sizes so we can see what you got. You may be able to spec it close to the 289 HiPo carb if you can get the right selection of parts. Or, you could try it on your engine first. The '66 carbs were Ford's attempt to keep the old 4100 series going another year by monkee-ing with them to pass smog, but your's is the small block size, so you might get lucky with it's current configuration.

set-up as is in the C6OF-D, which is for a '66 390 in a Fairlane(if memory serves), certainly a smog carb. Trouble is, those boosters were only used in smog carbs for the big block. The regular '65 289 4-V used DA and FA boosters in certain applications, so if we make an assumption that the "A" is a "minor" difference between the boosters, you could try using the stock 289 jets of 47F and 58F...or richer...with the boosters you have. Hard to find a large collection of Ford jets these days, though. On the bright side, your carb seems to be factory correct...just not for your application.

Forgot to mention that the vent tubes can be made by buying some brass tubes at Ace or any good hardware store...just cut to fit(after polishing to a brilliant shine, of course).

...make a slot (cut) on the bottom end to facilitate their insertion into the carb top cover holes. I'm not sure how deep you need to make them as all of mine are now installed. Maybe someone else has an original tube removed and can measure the depth of the cut.
I made my cuts with a very small (thin) hacksaw blade on a saw I had for model making.
