wow, that was different! i really enjoyed it. i love historical fiction. it was very interesting how the author created all these parallels between m and s and their counterparts in the 1215 welsh world. let's see...diana, pheobe, samantha, bill scully, and frohike and byers were all there. who else? who was the priest- skinner, deep throat...nobody? anyways, i loved the mulder characterization of the welsh lord. his history of whoring was portrayed as humorously as mulder's little porno hobby. he also had mulder's compassion, protectiveness, sense of justice, sense of humor, and eccentricity. his speech about feeling responsible for his subjects/village ppl/whoever was another great parallel- it was such a shame that the countess- duana/scully/whatever she is to be called- couldn't understand it! the language barrier business is quite entertaining as well. my only problem with the story so far is that it seemed like too much happened too fast- all in one night! i didn't think that scully would/should have warmed up to him that quickly.
what did everyone else think? meanwhile, i'm going to get started on the next chapter.
