Well, I think if you dedicated your life to God in this life, no matter what calling, he is dealing with you. He is teaching you and testing you. He can't grow your character otherwise. Also, even if your calling is not of the church, you will have a place in the Kingdom "my Father's house has many mansions." I would think if you end up working with other people and assisting others, or fufilling some capacity later - he would begin preparing you now for that later job.

Just some thoughts and gosh let's hope nobody thinks they have all the answers.
