Disfellowship

With the JWs, 3 knuckleheads (er...I mean kind hearted elders who want to do Jehovah's will to keep the congregation clean) meet in secret in a back room and discuss the presumed guilt of the individual, and then come out and tell the congregation that such and such is no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Then they announce this to the congregation with no supporting information and expect everyone to shun this person. It is very secret and nobody knows if the person left on his own or was kicked out and for what reason.

How does this work with the LHMN? I know with Bible Student ecclesia that I know, there must be a church trial with everyone voting and this only after a Matthew 18.

We never had this kind of thing going on before as you describe.

But now, things are mentioned from the podium at conventions and names of people discussed behind the scenes. I have listened to convention CDs where the name of a brother is not mentioned, but enough information is given so that you know who it is. Many things implied.

Some brothers are no longer asked to serve but have never been told they weren't going to serve, that they had done anything wrong - really not contacted at all. Just treating them like they don't exist anymore.

In my case, brethren who used to email me, just stopped doing so. Mind you...not one of them called me or anything, so they must have heard about me from someone.

I didn't do anything wrong. I know I can stand before God on this matter. I also always tried to be kind, consistent, and honest. A lot of inuendo and then people start treating you differently. When you try to discuss the doctrinal change, they even deny a change was made.

I believe it is becoming similar to the JWs in that way - no fair hearing, assuming people are bad or evil, so don't even listen to them. Pretty bad.

Okay, you made me smile.

Why would it make you think the door might still be open?

"Run by ex members of LHMM"

NEVER. Why? Because it is a movement and NOT and organization. No one ever joins the LHMM therefore id no one joins, they cannot be ex.

This is the correct thought. We are technically never thought of as members, although, with some recent events, there are almost membership-like requirements that you must follow to be allowed to fellowship freely. But, the thought has always traditionally been, that we do not join or belong to the LHMM. That was something I had always respected.

I actually do not like that site because it seems very anti-LHMM, and if you try to post a more positive thought about the LHMM, the owner will basically not like your comment and go after it.

Also, the person seems to have a real chip on their shoulder in terms of the LHMM - a real chip.

I feel this site we're on here, is a much more respectful and fair site. I appreciate how it is run.
