NEW ALBUMS...

November 28 2000 at 4:59 AM
FYI

Moist's lead singer David Usher must posses some excellent time management skills because he is going to be extremely busy in the coming months. When not shopping on Toronto's Queen West (he's a 32 waist, 32 inseam, although our spies report he likes his pants baggy) or volunteering to work with War Child, he has been busy writing not only the next Moist album, but a second solo album too.

It's too early to have a firm release date for either the solo outing or the Moist album, but fans can expect that when the dreary winter begins to end, albums will begin to arrive on store shelves. Usher is following up his gold certified debut solo album, Little Songs and Moist's Mercedes Five And Dime.

The energetic frontman just came back from spending a week at the Thailand/Burma border where he was part of a crew documenting poverty for War Child. His mother is a Thai Buddhist and he lived in Thailand for a while as a child himself. The lead singer wrote in his online journal, "The smells and the heat and the pollution bring back so many memories of being a kid. I did my first interview and it was an intense experience."

On November 8 the crew traveled to a community of 30,000 to visit a medical clinic. He witnessed dedicated doctors working in brick huts with plastic roofs with little running water or sanitation treating people with chronic bouts of malaria and other diseases eradicated in richer western cultures. "It can't help but make you count your blessings," read an excerpt from the journal.
