Hi can you help? my 89 2.0 ltr has a cough at 2800-3000 pre turbo kick in . have replaced cam and balance belts, cam belt was two teeth out done by some muppet pre me getting car . also i have replaced cap,arm,coil,leads,plugs and timed her using timing light.but it's still there.any idea's please ? thank you (she was two teeth pre timing mark on cam and still ran. like s*** granted but she been sat 6 years )
theres a pinhole in your vacuam advance and retard diaphram. You can test this by "sucking" on the end of it, take the cap and rotor arm off. From here you should be able to see the vacuam advance arm, suck on the vac line, you should see the arm move and STAY there....if it doesnt stay put when you keep sucking, its fooked.
