that was once run by Doug Forbes...think it was in Historic Thundersaloons/ sports or something

saw it for sale on e-bay a number of times, with a strange description of the engine
i.e. that it had/has an evo crank fitted etc
obviously this is impossible as the Starion is 6-bolt and all evos are 7-bolt bottom ends

the original builder of the engine may have used e.g. evo pistons perhaps
hope they kept the Starion rods as they are better/stronger than early evo stuff

also in the ad, power was stated as approx 340bhp
...just a tad optimistic as it still has the original injection pot and management system albeit with a 'chipped ecu'

anyway, good luck with your new project
keep us updated with progress...

Query regarding the EVO crank

The '7 bolt bottom end' pertains to the number of bolts that are needed to mount the flywheel. The EVO 1-3 bottom end is the same except for the gudgeon pin diameter of the pistons and obviously the pistons cater for 2 extra valves. The bottom end is one of the same.

I have an EVO III lump, complete 16V twin cam head etc... fitted in a W/B Starion and I had no problems.
