- Rally Japan organisers have joined forces with filmmakers. Kobayashi Yoshinori, well known in Japan for directing action movies such as the recent major hit Unfair, is now filming a new blockbuster - The Special Stage.
The movie is based on the popular Japanese manga (comics) of the same name, portraying the life of a once retired driver named Daibutsu now making it back into rallying.
Japanese action movie star Aikawa Sho plays the leading role alongside other famous actors such as Endo Kennichi, Megumi and Sakai Noriko.
Besides the great cast, Japanese moviegoers and especially rally fans will be delighted to see legendary Japanese sport cars in action such as the Subaru Impreza, Nissan GT-R and Mitsubishi Starion 4WD. The movie is due to be released in January 2008.
During Rally Japan, Aikawa Sho will be present at the Ceremonial start on 25 October and will also have a meeting with the fans at the Service Park on the following day.
