He sold me what was meant to be a perfect engine.. i put it in my car and the big ends are on the way out.. i tried to ring nick or Tim what ever he wants to call himself but no answer then text him telling him what was wrong with the engine just for him to reply saying there is nothing wrong with the engine.. more text was sent trying to explain to him that i have had 2 other mechanics check the car and the big ends are differently on there way out. which then turned into him swearing at me and calling me a liar. i have offered him to come down to look at the engine. Why would i lie as I want my car on the road which now it is still off the road.. this engine is not worth the 250 quid that i have paid for it.. please be aware of this scammer.. do not believe a word he says..

If i had sold an engine that i thought was perfect and it turned out it wasn't i would want to check it out not just take the money and do nothing.
I am sorry to hear about this situation, all i can say is ive bought two items off this ebay seller and both have been good. Admittingly it was only an HKS turbo timer and some other small parts but they work perfectly.

i find all of this quite amusing really.lets look at the real story;
i bought a black starion off ebay F99HVS for spares.having robbed any parts i needed i then proceeded to sell parts off i no longer required,1 of which was the engine.When i bought the car i had seen it running,drove it up the road with no problems whatsoever,other than the rust.

i have owned/broken aprox 12 starions over the years and not one car i have owned despite some having covered mega mileage has ever suffered from shagged big ends!

You criticise someone for selling you a "bad" car (i have to agree with the person you bought the car from, if you didn't check it, more fool you and they seemed more than happy to discuss the issue with you despite your name calling) Then you sell an engine you claim has had the bottom end go through inadequate fitting which is the most stupid thing I've ever heard.
As for the driving argument on MLR, i have never seen you drive so i can't comment but you must be very good or full of s**t if you think you could teach Simon anything, who i have seen drive on a few occasions, and judging by the post's I've been directed to i think it's the later.

the engine was there to be inspected!never even bothered to look at it before loading it up.it was running absolutely fine when it was removed from the car and as i have repeatadly stated to the forum,and the prick who bought the engine,if i truly was going to rip him off i would have sold him the peice of **** motor that came out of the car originally as it was still sat in the unit!
i had actually offered him a part refund also but he decided to go all high and mighty and post on the starion website first so he can now go and **** himself!
as for you mate,your loss!id advise you contacting paul andrews and seeing how much his ralliart suspension is without the springs and camber plates and then you will see what a good deal youve missed out on!
and i dont see davcav complaining about his AP brakes he bought off me for a bargain price!

I've been following all this above for a couple of days now and it has made very interesting reading, the only thing I'm going to say as Starion parts are becoming more and more like rocking horse sh-t to find if someone out there has a part I need then I'll be more than happy to pay good money for that item, but you always have to take into consideration that these items are second hand whether they`re 6 months old or six years old thats the gamble you take.
On the flip side of the coin I've learnt some new swear words
does it matter if i wrote the big ends are going and gone? either way they are making a noise and need replacing you are just being petty of the words i have used... it is still going to cost me time and money to make the engine closer to the perfect one you told me about. big ends can't just go by putting the engine in my car, if you were half as good a mechnic as you like to think you are then you would know this and not just call me a liar. Maybe you should have come and checked the engine when i offered you to then you could point out what i have done so wrong to make the big ends go, but i think you new they were gone that is why you didn't.
And Thomas i know second hand parts are not like new but when someone sells you an engine and tells it is perfect then that is what i expect to get, not get told where to go when i inform the prick there is a problem with it.
I've Just bought a Starion the only trouble is It's in Halifax and I'm in Cornwall the chances of me going and having a good look around her are out of the question, so I'm purely going on the sellers honesty and this guy has been so honest and up front and has been more than happy to send me pictures of any part of the car I wish to see and that includes the bad bits which are very few , so you could say I'm taking a gamble myself but I feel in this case from the sellers honesty that the car is straight and sound you could put it down to instinct.
There's good feeling and bad and if you feel a bad feeling about anything just walk away because you can always guarantee there will be some thing even better around the corner.
The only way that we can stop the filth like Nick Clark is to ask Mark Stacey for a membership fee of a reasonable amount which would include all personal details such as address and telephone numbers.
This would ensure that only genuine starion enthusiast/owners could use this site and get rid of the parasites. This is done for most other clubs already e. g datsun, capri etc.
It also means we get rid of the profanity and obscene language which is unneccessary and vulgar and would not be tolerated by a fee paying membership as you would be barred.
I have not been on this site for over 14 months, why are we allowing someone like Nick to cloud our enjoyment of our cars and our common sharing of knowledge to better our experience to replace it instead with distrust, profanity and loathing.............?
