anti tramp bars

Who knows anything about anti tramp bars???? i am thinking of fabricating some for my starion but don't know
a thing about them yet????

HI,anti tramp bars are for a live axle and leaf springs set up .It eliminates the distortion of the spring during load and release of load which causes the tramp effect.starions have independant rear suspention so i dont think you need them ..lee

Starions have macpherson struts on the back. Leaf springs came on the early Fords (mk1 and mk2) among others, and these always get the anti tramp treatment. Leaf springs are 3 foot long strips of metal layered over each other with the axle attached in the middle. Torque can 'rotate' the leaves with the wheels, losing initial torque.
