Now folks, it's a real beauty....the Showy Pink Lady Slipper Orchid. I tried to copy and paste a pic of one here but alas...my 'puter skills are minimal!! They grown along the roadway ditches towards the end of June, first of July. I have one in my backyard that I've guarded from the lawn mower now for 22 years!! Whew..that's a challenge!
It really wasn't too bad today. Made a venture into the big city of Berrrmidji!! Glad to be back home in the woods...safe and sound. Had a pick up go in the ditch in front of me...I coasted to a stop and asked if they needed a ride.
Two snowmobiles almost darted across the highway in front of me, and I found the only steep driveway probably in Bemidji to slide down and through the stop sign! 4-wheel drive and pumping the breaks like mad didn't slow me down and around the corner I went. Car behind me did the same thing! Some times home just looks soooo good!!
