That's about as good of a picture as I've heard about
both the era and those directly involved. Once heard
something that would apply here: For everything there
is a place, and for everyone there is a time. The
Vietnam war was yours and mine.
I don't fault Brokaw for writting or feeling as
he did/does. Events that followed the WWII era
have been less taken into the inner psyche of this
nation as that time. Or so the press/media would
have us believe. It's good to see the pride of those
from that era as it is yours from the VN era, and
those from the Desert Storm era. It's a viewpoint
for each tied together by the similarities that
continue from generation to generation.
Sipping the suds whilst at Parris Island on CPX III
with you was one of my lifes journies highlights guy.
I'm sure others have their own, but that one is
mine.
