Washington: The Natural Resources Defense Council says that among the 11,000 heavily edited pages are copies of emails showing the administration adopted requests by the American Petroleum Institue for a review of energy supply regulations and by the power plant giant Southern Co. for a revision of air-pollution rules.
Southern Co. which owns 10 of the 51 power plants that have been sued for allegedly not complying with federal air pollutaion laws, not only advocated changing the laws, but asked that all enforcement action-including federal lawsuits related to the law -be reviewed.
