The best laid plans, etc.

I'm trying to figure out how to get to CA to see Ben and need more than a couple of days notice for when he will be available. Drives me crazy! Also know how much it means to the grandparents to speak with their Marines. My mother is the only grandparent left and she hasn't seen Ben for 2 years. She still says "I don't know why he didn't go in the Navy (like my father)" - I think she must think he could 'drive' the ship home for weekends??? If he gets here in June, it will be one whirlwind from hell trying to see everyone he needs to see - guess who will get short shrift?
