In fact, I can't remember any special ceremony as far as getting emblems go. I'm pretty sure we just got our emblems issued to us and the DI's had us go over them with M-Nu for Final Field Inpection. I guess the Eagle, Globe and Anchor Ceremony must have become a standard when the Crucible was started. There may have been some DI's that elected to do something along those lines prior to that and that may have been where the Corps got the idea for it.
