Our floors are the old wood planks that were so common in houses 200-300 years ago. My wife decided to repaint our kitchen floor some time back and it came out great! As long as you use paint made for floors, and follow the manufacturers instructions, the paint will hold up well. One of the most important things is to let the paint cure before you subject it to any hard use.
