Sgt Ben is now officially an east coast resident again. His departure from CA and arrival in DE were typical Marine Corps fashion; ie not what one expected. Everything was 'arranged' and he went to 29 Palms w/his now old unit, though he was not training - provided some supervisory role. Anyway, orders show up...get outta here now and he's off and running. Arrived totally discombobulated so of course sleeping is off track. Calls Momz 0130 and talks til he is no longer coherent around 0400.
Anyway, he is very pumped up and asked about everyone on the boards. Told him were are pretty dysfunctional at this point but he remembers those he has met and sends a big SEMPER FI to them. Hope paths will cross again. He will begin Security Forces training on November 17 NOT January 5 as he expected. Who knows after that but he is looking forward to seeing more of the world.
So that's what's up from Momz. I celebrated the Marine Corps birthday last night in Burlington and spoke with a Col. who was w/combat engineers in Iraq. Felt good to speak w/someone and he offered to meet w/Ben when he came to Vermont. Thanks, Col Anderson.
Last, but not least, signed up w/DeanForAmerica today; go Howie!
