Oh SB, I can bet you will find being a Marine Dad is a completely different experience from being a Marine!! (was going to say "just a Marine" but thought better of that! Those pesky Marines can find ya anywhere---even the boonies of northern MN!). So let us "mean Marine Momz" offer you our support!!! I am on the sidelines now but will never forget the experience. Clare of course is still in the thick of it and more so than I could ever relate to. I think you can understand that from reading the book...I tried to get the word out to as many as I could about Ben in the book but we just don't seem to communicate like we used to. I'm sure some of the former posters will be haunting the spot of the Globe and Laurel...and you know whom we speak of!!! I am posting this in a hurry since I need to get ready to go out to dinner to celebrate Marine DIL's 30th birthday this week. Her parents are here from CA and we all attended her graduation, Summa Cum Laude, from Bemidji State University this past Friday. A very proud moment for her and for us who love her. The DI's at PI nicknamed her "Ice" so you can imagine the control she will have as a school teacher! Her final discharge papers should be coming soon. Matt has gotten his. Hoping to make a trip to Vermont in the near future....this year sometime. Momz decided not to come to MN this summer so will have to go see her and the east coast.
I'll be keeping you and your Marine son in prayers since this is a tough time for our military. Keep us all updated....would love to send him a MN "because I care" pkg!!

PS we are freezing here right now in MN....thought it was supposed to be spring! |
