Ione,
I'm glad you all understand that once a Marine always a Marine I had to send the email below to a friend of mine about that aspect i got a kick out of it.. figured i would post it here as well.
No matter what uniform I put on or the job that I do.. I will always be a Marine.
The things the teach us a boot camp get ingrained and no matter what others try to teach us it stays there, and I personally believe that they can never be removed.
I still wear boot blouses
I still iron my cammies (not ACU's , BDU's or what ever else the army calls them)
I still wear my brown Marine Corps Boots (the ones with the EGA on the heel)
I still say OOH RAH, not this hooah crap
I still wear a high and tight (actually now its probably tight since i started shaving my head)
I still commemorate the Marine Corps Birthday.
I still believe JJDIDTIEBUCKLE is the correct Leadership traits (not LDRSHIP)
I still serve at the will of the PEOPLE of the United States
As a reminder we have all be told for many years that... Dogs cant be taught new tricks.. Marines never stop improvising, adapting and overcoming
I was raised that when there is a need to fill that need the best you can, I'm starting to get older and my body isn't liking me too much anymore.. Because of that I'm not sure I could complete the Marine Corps requirements for an officer position nor the PT aspects. I found something that I could.
Momz the unit is a National Guard Unit based out of Richmond. 2 of the casualties over the last month SPC Derek Banks and SGT John Lambert are both from on of our Subordinate Companies. The Army swapped to a Modular force which means they can take a company without taking the whole Battalion.
