Went to Donegal Town and Glencolumcille Sat/Sun. It was spectacularly beautiful. Enough to make anyone a tree hugger. Actually, there are few trees, but incredible ruggedness. Looks much more romantical than living there probably is. Most jobs from the sea (Atlantic Ocean, not Irish Sea). But am glad I took the long bus ride to get there ... all in the name of research, of course! Much more Irish singing and music in the states than here, though. Done mostly for tourists in July and August unless you know people. So I've been knowin people and found a local pub w/music. Mostly fiddle players and Irish flutes...they tell me the best musicians have left which is sad. Culture is fading here as the Celtic tiger takes over.
