That I carried a 45 as a backup...or was it the other way around... much would have prefer to have kept the M-14...which those in power wanted to get rid of...their wisdom was as good as how that war turned out for the Vietnamese...
The M-14 was so BAD...that now it's used as a sniper rifle...
I'm still awaiting the results of how the M-16 will hold up to temps such as those encountered in Korea of the 50's...
If it an't broke don't fix it...wise words that some did not listen to...was looking at a program on the History of the Gun...was surprise to learn that the AR-15 from whom the M-16 was modeled from was made by Colt...was it their Edsel?
