The carbine I had reconditioned by a older man from Poland...but I gave them to a friend sad to say...the 7.62X39mm has a large rim but the bullet is about the same...
7.62X39mm vs 5.56mm made for us being at a disadvantage...I think from Aka about AK 80 to AK 180 the Russkies have gone to a 5.54mm round but they're not selling too much of those...maybe that one reason they went belly-up and lost the "Cold War"...
I still wish that they could invent some kind of weapon system using a round between the 5.56mm and 7.62mm so it could use the better parts of both rounds...and that they would use a 1-7 or 1-8 rifling to keep the accuracy of the 16A2 and some of the M-14 whose rifling was 1-12...if this old mind is thinking straight this A.M in Northwest Indiana...
