Congratulations to the new Lance Corporal!! And to the proud momma too!! These young men are Marine's but they still have so much to learn....it's tough when they hit those spots but if they can only persevere (with lots of prayer and encouragement from mom it seems) they come out the other side wiser and for the better. Matt hit his "spot" while in Okinawa...which I think was harder on me than him in the long run but he got through it and I went "whew!!"
The first CAX Matt went to at 29 Palms he got injured. He called me at work to say he had good news and bad news. Can't remember the good news...but he had a 100# shell casing land on his big toe and smash it. So he had a broke toe!! It continued to give him trouble and while in Okinawa he had the toe nail removed. Another mother had gotten the picture of his toe from her son...thinking it was her son's toe. So..in this small world we live in...I saw a picture of the toe!! OUCH!! So, glad Will made it through that safely also! And Matt heads to Okinawa in July..that was the last plans anyway. Maybe they will end up seeing each other. BTW....how's your job situation? Been waiting to hear!!
