      Of course, he grew up in an era when that wasn't uncommon. He made the decision to leave school to go to work to make money to help out the family. He had seven sisters and six brothers that needed food on the table! His parents only allowed him to leave school if he turned over his entire pay check to his mom.

      But, he certainly wasn't un-educated. He read two newspapers, front page to last page, each day. He was an avid book reader and was knowledgeble on just about every subject that came up. I don't think I ever met anyone that was more devoted to family, country and God than he was.
