...when you were in bootcamp, but they used those guns to administer a couple of the vaccinations when I went thru Parris Island in July '70. There was this no recruit in my platoon. Don't know whether a skeeter or sand flea bit him or what, but he flinched just as the doc pulled the trigger on the vaccination gun. Ripped his arm clean off at the shoulder! They had to transport him to sick bay to reattach the arm. We never saw that recruit again after that. I suppose he was picked up by a later platoon...
