Maybe we are not always the "bad guys" but too often the USA has cozied up to some real "bad guys" for the wrong reasons. And don't forget that some of those other"bad guys" were once "good guys" and carried on the CIA payroll as hired assassins and thugs. My experience with a Mr. Diechert, the charge d'affaires in the US embassy at San Salvador, made me embarrassed to be an American. The structure itself is a fortress and speaks volumes about our relationship with the people of third world countries. I was taking some photos of the embassy in San Salvador when a soldier pointed his rifle at my mid-section and told me it was a no no. The arrogance of power! Trying to stop me, an American citizen, from taking a picture of MY embassy. We could go on all night, Nomad, but I could not change your mind and you could not change mine. Semper Fi and have a great gathering of Marines. Uncle Bill
