On the cd-single for Heart's Filthy Lesson the second track is I Am With Name (Album version) that has a slightly different intro (no segue before it) - so it is actually not the album version.
Im a collector, but unless we all refuse to buy this rip off material they'll keep doing over and over. I for one will not be touching these thing with a barge pole.
Such a pity that something more imaginative cant be released.

Totally cool collection of stuff, and very decent looking packaging. I have already collected most of it, but some I've never heard of. I can just imagine getting this package as a new fan, and being totally, completely blown away. The same thing happended to me as I was collecting it myself, only much more slowly...
as people have not pointed out loads of things are missing, despite the masses of remixes, at least each extra disc looks chocca-full this time, which is no bad thing I guess.
and remember Stranger, these are just reissues and not anniversary sets, so I reckon the tracklistings and content is pretty much spot on, just as it was for the BTWN 3disc set
I've been gathering up all these tracks of late by buying all the CD singles I didin't have with the intention of burning them on a CD each for myself. Now I wish I'd waited! I wasn't to know though and at least I have the CD singles with the artwork etc.
Every copy of Thursday's Child CD single that I've bought that states TC (Rock Mix) is always the same as the single mix! Does a Rock Mix actually exist of this track? I've had four CD singles of it so far.
There is a "rock" mix for "Thursday's Child".
I bought the cd single in Florida at the time at Virgin Mega.
It's the Part II of the two-part-er series for the single.
THe tracklisting is:
1.)"Thursday's Child"(rock mix) 4:27
2.)"We Shall All Go To Town" 3:56
3.)"1917" 3:27
The cover art is a brownish background with a film-negative picture of Bowie on it circa ''hours...''.
Also,it has the video for "Thursday's Child" on it,which is why I bought it essentially.
The only real difference for 'tween the "rock" mix and the reg. single edit/album version is a an electronic wheeze of an intro and a moderately-chugging Reeves riff riding the song. Plus,a bit more of an electronic vibe going through it. Interesting listen though.
A lot of the Thursday's Child part 2 cd-singles were mispressed and contain the tracks of part 1 of the single. Maybe that is why you didn't get the rock mix?

Pretty good bonus discs, though I feel the Outside disc could have been filled up a bit more with the spaceboy bsides( Moonage live and Under Pressure live) and I really dont understand why they didnt include the Brian Eno rmix of the live version of the man who sold the world... wasnt that the double aside of the strangers single?
One remix Im really missing is the Adam F remix of Telling Lies, but apart from that I can live with the tracklist ad Ill probably buy the box
Sort of but unususal set order no hearts filthy lesson, motel played in the middle somwhere, spaceboy 2 and ended with we prick you! (well the second paceboy was the final song)
Though I must say the performace was really goo, the best performance of The voyeur was played there.. Mike and reeves were on fire!!
still not as good as they could have been though. The live trax from 'Strangers' b-side ferinstance. Still, as already pointed out, much more comprehensive than the pap EMI have put out on those 'shamiversary' bonus discs.

It's an improvement on quantity anyway. Although it was a chance to give Buddha Of Suburbia "propper" release as that was such an important, fantastic record. Give it a better cover and booklet and let people hear it.
And the Tao Jones index set would have been a nice touch to the Earthling cd.
