It wasn't used for the film (Moulin Rouge) as far as I remember. I like this a lot but I prefer the version without Massive Attack. I think his singing is stunning at the end.

I think the Massive Attack version is FANTASTIC
...well
except for one thing -
it sounds like Bowie's vocal is just 'sitting' on top of the music (which was also my biggest problem with the album 'hours...' but anyways)
but I think this problem was more due to the fact that Bowie pretty much literally 'ohoned in' his vocal for the track
they weren't actually in the studio together
it just proves the point that... you can have an excellent instrumental & a vocal performance, but there's just 'something' about having the people there together. you know?
A very poweful voice, but what a cruel end to this mans life.
Olavi Virta's career was cut short by a scandalous arrest for drunken driving in 1962, after which the press mockingly called him "The Singing Meatball." Ten years later he succumbed to alcoholism, living his final years in poverty.

Yes your right. Both versions appear on the soundtrack cd. I love MA but i just love Bowie;s version without MA. His voice at the end still sends a chill through me.
