DECIDED TO GIVE THESE THEIR OWN THREAD...

we had a fantastic time the performance of madame butterfly last night. our first time at the brand new purpose built atlanta opera house. the performances were top notch ... the new modern sets and costumes by japanese sculptor jun kaneko were stunning. the missus cried 4 times.
we took a few pics in the lobby. the ones of me came out very strangely (double image) because i asked angela to turn the flash off.....

These are seriously cool shots.

The available light ones of yourself with the long exposure are brilliantly moody, you look like a gangster in a jazz club, chillin' between killin's. They're the sort of atmospheric shots that should have been in the artwork for BTWN. The flash shots of your missus are brilliant too, but in a completely different way, the lighting is so even with no hotspots, almost like you used ringf-lash or studio lighting. So vivid and punchy. Really good work there!

I also like the B/W glowing cocktail shots with the motion blur. I guess you must have edited them in Picasa to desaturate them.

You sure you're not a photographer?

Sean, I've been meaning to do my own Happy Sunday y'all posts as I think they're brilliant snap shots of England and Englishness. Especially with your textured quirky photos to compliment the friendly message. I've just been too busy at the weekends to come on here - sorry!

thank you very for the compliments mr titchmarsh and NO you are not on drugs and YES i am a photographer of sorts. i do all the product shots for our jewelry line ( www.bohemejewelry.net), i have had some minor shows and my wife and i had a gallery (BOHO LUXE)for 5 years that featured our own work. i have been published in local papers and newsweek magazine......however the pics were taken with an inexpensive , 5 yr old digital camera. i did use picassa to treat them,i prefer it's simplicity to photoshop. the missus did the color treatments this time around.
