Didn't click on the link, but I remember Bowie appearing on a very, very American looking sitcom, outside in a sunny pool area, surrounded by yes men / women. He was playing a conceited movie director & being insulting:
"we're playing a game, we're trying to guess which root vegetable most resembles John's (?) head, someone suggested a turnip, but I don't think that's bulbous enough".
I remember in early '93 or late '92 Bowie appeared as himself in a new sitcom called Full Stretch, set in the world of stretch limos. He was playing himself and was supposedly on tour / shooting a music video in London.
The plot was far fetched, the driver parked on a double yellow and the limo got towed away and impounded, with Bowie still in there, asleep. The driver got the car out of the pound without Bowie being any the wiser. Thought it was funny when the driver said " I'm your biggest fan, got all your albums & I really liked Tin Machine". Bowie groaned.
Back then, I was hoping to hear songs from his new, unreleased solo album on the show. But, nothing was played. Still, it was good to see Dave on the box, raising his profile a little ahead of BTWN.
EDIT, watched it now, thanks for that, Sparks

I do remember seeing that, but I don't think the scene I described was there, maybe he appeared in another episode.
