I think religion can sometimes fill in the gaps where people are unable to think for themselves.
Not that I want to completely knock religion. In some villages, religion and church can be the center of the whole community. The glue that binds families together. It can be part of their culture, part of their social lives, part of their rituals, beliefs, and there for every major step in their lives; christening marriage and ultimately death.
Religion can be a wonderful, selfless thing which teaches people to care for others and turn the other cheek, but as we saw in that clip, it can also make people narrow minded & beyond reason.
