Up in the trees near our garden I can hear this (feathered) bird making bizarre squeaking sounds, all day.

I then realised where I had heard the sound before. My daughter's guinea pigs make that exact same noise and the bird must be able to hear them squeaking and could possibly be presuming it's a mating call, so it's returning the mating call to the non-existent mate.
