As some of you probably heard, Sydney was recently blessed by the appearance of Brian Eno in a stunning new festival of music and light.
Eno curated the 2 and a half week long festival. He also often appeared on stage performing/collaborating ... sometime billed, sometimes impromptu.
As Eno said this year, the attraction of Sydney Opera House (as the centerpiece for the music and light display) was too good to refuse. The festival is also a little different to most because it also involves a government grant to help make it possible.
Now the question of whom should curate next year has come up. As you might expect, a certain someone was among the early suggestions and "curating" has been a favored position of his in recent years.
So the question might end up for yourselves - most of whom are not Australians - how far are you prepared to travel to see David Bowie another time in concert?
Well, 100% Brit (and apparently proud of it) is being a bit over the top when he says 8 hours [of Outside outtakes]. I'd love to know the truth concerning what 100% Git really has ~ Reeves Gabrels, 2003

Its 1427km for me....Given Bowie likes Sydney could be a good time for a short holiday for him and his family!!!!
As for a show all he needs is a acoustic guitar..
It's basically the other side of the planet. I will travel half the world if it comes true. Won't even think twice. Just the thought of it makes my heart race.
Not yet but maybe I should get to it. I know we'll need the obligatory backyard BBQ as soon as I work out what a "shrimp" actually is.

He couldn't make it down the road from his house to perform at the Highline festival, so I very much doubt that he'll travel halfway across the world to play or curate at Sydney Opera House to what would be in relative terms, a handful of people.

We received many great suggestions of who should curate next year's LUMINOUS festival.
Several people suggested David Bowe, and others included Bono, Peter Gabriel, Thom Yorke, Patti Smith, Laurie Anderson, Mike Patton and Brian Eno again because he's done such a great job this year.
There were also some interesting ones such as Kylie Minogue and the Dalai Lama!
The winner of the two tickets to Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 was Michael Boyadjian who suggested Bjork because "she is eccentric, inspirational and avant-garde."
So it sounds like Bowie was the most commonly suggested for curating next year! Let's hope he gets asked!
