anyone know where l can get relatively inexpensive clothing for my wee grandson who is albino?

l have heard that austrailia is THE place for sun protective clothing, l already got a shade a babe for the buggy, but now we know that there is no pigment in marcuss' hair and eylashes, it looks like his skin will be the same,
mostly swimming suits in scotland that are uv safe and that is not what we are looking for.

we just want day to day t shirts , trousers etc.

any help really appreciated. baby is 7 months.

Hiya Rosie

(I had told you I was still around, see ?). OK, I'm not down under , only in Marseille and it's quite sunny a place too

so it isn't too difficult to find UV-proof clothing on catalogues and on online selling sites here

http://www.oclio.com/securite-exterieur-vetement-anti-uv-c-6_108_147.html

http://www.boutchoux.net/boutique/catalogue.php?menusel=4&selmenu2=50

(I'll have a look and find more if you so wish)

if you are interested and want me to forward a parcel to you, just let me know

HIH

All the best to you and lovely Marcuss and to the whole family

hi izzy, we had the baby at the big hospital on wednesday, he has no pigment in his hair so it will belikely that his skin is the same, we have to see a geneticist in a few weeks , then we will know everything.

thise catalogues look great, must not be high demand for them in scotland. not much sunshine here anyway, but the albinos have to be splattered in sun cream every day, it would save his wee body haveing to be smeared in it every day if he had clothes that he could just put on.

l will show the sitres to siobhain, l am sure she will be glad of your offer to send a parcel over, even if it is things that edin has grown out of, which are sp whatever! although being continental he will be all right n the sun...... aw nawwwwwwwww!!!!!!!!
a forgoat thit auld michael wiz is da! pair wee mite .. he mair as like white wi a blue tinge if he taen efter that east coast peely wally gadgie!

lets hope he has your colour!

"he mair as like white wi a blue tinge if he taen efter that east coast peely wally gadgie!

LOL ! I was born in Marseille which is pretty sunny in summer so I always walk in the shade, it is a sort of a reflex and I keep a long-sleeved jacket on even in summer, when I take it off, my skin is a white as it was in January. Michael is far less cautious, he sat in my parent's garden without even a hat on a couple of times and goes out without sun protection on so now he's as brown as a tanned Mexican. Some people here don't know where Scotland is, so when he explains where he comes from, they sometimes think he's a Corsican. That how Northern he looks now !

As for Edin, he has to be splattered in sun cream and to wear sunglasses when he goes out just like Marcuss.

Right Rosie, could you drop me an email with your postal address in it (and some new pics of Marcuss too please !)we'll send a little parcel for the wee man.
Oh and what size does he wear now ? Is it 9 months or 12 months already ?

Fu**k sake bats!

l always thought that you were english!

shows you how wrong you can be!

in scotland we dont see much sun, as you probably know!

but when a baby is albino, you have to seriously consider his skin even in the dull grey light that we are bathed in! hee hee!

so we are looking all over to get him suitable things, we have heard of kidsbanz ( sunglasses and sunglasses for special needs with low vision etc) so he is getting them this week, ive never seen any kids with them on here, right enough.

bloody hell! after all these years that lve known you , l cant believe l always thought you were english.

sorry bats. x

"ive never seen any kids with them on here"

We had brought them over to Edinburgh last time but although the weather wasn't too bad Edin didn't get any opportunity to wear them. He wears them quite often here.
