Oh, Mr. Bowie, you ROMANTIC, BOW-MANTIC, CHARMING GENTLEMAN

Oh, for crying in Amlapura! Angel and Baby were terms of endearment to his(then) bride, and I thought they sounded romantic (Bo-Mantic?) and charming in that context.
Chauvinist, my left eyelash!

LOL.
I think Bippity missed out a comma which changes the whole meaning of the lyric.
"Angel! Come get up, my baby."
He's telling his 'angel' to get up and not be down. He's not asking Angela to wake their baby (who would have been about 5 by then). I doubt any man has ever asked for a baby to be woken.
Some poeple think Bowie is singing "come wallop my baby".
Mr. Bowie was calling ANGIE his baby. Baby as in "Sweetheart." The Gentleman was telling his bride to get up from her pit of sorrow and not to be disheartened and it had NOTHING to do with babies or children in general or little Zowie in particular
I was going to bang on about strikes to my YT account, and how i only have 1 life out of 3 left, and how come embeded vids still work after been struck, but that would be pushing my luck, MJ's service in 90 mins.
